All GREEN Schools projects

At the zoo, 1D planted trees to take home as part of our field trip experience.

When we paint, we use the same newspaper sheets every week in order to save paper waste. The students clean up themselves and they know not to throw out the newspaper.

Today in 1D we are making rabbit homes out of recycled boxes, newspaper, water bottles, cotton and straws to consolidate our learning about how to meet all the needs of a living thing. We printed out success criteria rubrics on GOOS paper.

1D captured tadpoles and have been raising them in our classroom for 2 months. We have had 2 species. The first species grew into toads and were released. The second are still developing and we observe them regularly.

In 1D we use GOOS paper regularly for rough drafts, drawings and more.

Grade 6C created brochures about issues related to Biodiversity (such as Water Pollution, Monoculture Farming, Overfishing, etc.) in order to become more aware of the factors that are affecting the biodiversity of our planet.

Grade 6C brought in various plants from home in order to learn more about biodiversity in our community - we are now learning how to properly take care of these plants.

In 6C, we only use one of our air conditioners every day in the classroom in order to save energy.
