All GREEN Schools projects

Grade 3D compared 4 different types of soil through observation.  They drew diagrams and described these soils using adjectives about the different colours and textures.

Grade 3 used recycled toilet paper rolls and scrap paper to make a snowman pencil holder.

The primary hockey club made trophies out of recycled items.  Some of the recycled items included:  plastic bottles, big water jugs, recycled paper, etc.  The trophies will be used as prizes for the best team at the end of clubs.

As Grade 3 works in the garden/outside we appreciate wildlife no matter how small.  Students catch snails, toads, beetles etc in an appropriate cage to observe.  Then let it back free in a safe habitat around school.

Green club used recycled milk boxes to use as containers to germinate various types of seeds.

Green club worked in small groups to collect bits of garbage big and small around the perimeter of the school.  We collected 6 bags of garbage.

1B used scrap/GOOS paper to decorate our recycling bin. We talked about what it means to recycle something. We learned that recycling our paper is much better than throwing it in the garbage.
