We have “No waste Wednesdays” at our school. The Nature Kids Club would like to move to litter-less lunches by the end of the year! Litter-less Lunches are when we do not leave any waste at school. The Nature Kids Club collects used or dead batteries (9V, AAA, B, AA, D, C and cell batteries) to recycle for the metal. The acid in the batteries is also drained and therefore bypassing the landfill and not leaching into our water systems. The students learn how the important water is and how we need to protect it. The Nature Kids Club use reusable containers instead of zip-lock bags and plastic to bring our snacks and lunches in. We are encouraging others to bring a garbage-less and nutritious food as well. Chief Justice Milvain School - Calgary
