Nature Kids Club collects and recycles drinking/beverage containers from the Lunchrooms, staff room and classrooms. This helps support the Grade 4 curriculum study of Waste in our World.

The Nature Kids Club has had things donated to our school that have been recycled. The Nature Kids Club encourage classes to reuse resources when and where we can. For example, teachers use old muffin tins to put paint pucks in instead of buying new plastic trays, use old yogurt for holding manipulatives or margarine containers for water dishes for painting. The Nature Kids Club has encouraged classes to use their recycled paper for other things. In room 3, they are now using recycled paper for our spelling tests, to draw pictures on etc. instead of getting new paper. Chief Justice Milvain School - Calgary

Nature Kids Club promote that it’s a great idea to Reuse clothing! Use old shirts for paint shirt instead of putting in the landfill. Donate your clothing to charities. If you are buying a new shirt, why not buy one that has been recycled. Chief Justice Milvain School - Calgary

We don’t use plastic bags! The Nature Kids Club collected plastic bags for “That’s Not My Bag”. They decorated cloth bags and filled them with plastic bags they collected from their classmates. The Nature Kids Club reminded their peers that plastic bags end up in the ocean and do great harm to ocean life because of human carelessness. Please save a turtle and use a cloth bag. The Nature Kids Club want to remind their school to use paper from recycling bin so it is not wasted. If you notice that there is a paper in the recycling bin that you can use for something else. Please save a tree!!! Chief Justice Milvain School - Calgary
