Students in École Gravelbourg School are now recycling. It’s a project they cherish, since it’s helping our planet to be cleaner and safer for all living beings. A group of students decided to push it a little farther and also created the We Act Green club.
Mrs. Fournier's literature class has explored how the New Year is celebrated in different countries. Their first stop was China. Grade 1/2 French immersion students made a dragon using a toilet paper roll for the body. They were really happy with the result!
Mrs. Fister’s 4/5 Art class created new Christmas ornaments with old Christmas and birthday wish cards. The entire community actually participated in the project since they were asked to send their cards to school.
Staff decided to paint many of the bulletin boards this year instead of covering with paper. The boards are fantastic, staff used cans of paint that they had at home that just had some paint left.
Grades 2-5 celebrated Earth Day by cleaning up the walk to our favourite playground! We took garbage bags and gloves and collected 5 full bags of garbage in an attempt to clean up our local neighbourhood.
