Nature Kids Club sorted through the garbage and reported back to the staff what kind of garbage there was collected. As a school community, each class discussed how we could make better choices for a healthier Earth.

The Nature Kids Club reminded other to turn off the taps off when they leave the washrooms because water is precious. Remember, no playing in the water and making messes! That is wasteful! There are people without clean any drinking water! Chief Justice Milvain School - Calgary

All classrooms turn their lights off when they are not in the room. The Nature Kids Club, made signs to go next to all of the light switches using recycled paper. This encouraged the entire school to turn the lights out when they left their rooms. If it is not necessary for lights, turn them off. If it is not necessary for technology, turn it off! One student chose to focus on the bat during a structured mammal inquiry. He taught the class that bats "see with their ears," and we consolidated learning about echolocation and a little bit about predator/prey relationships by playing the game Bat & Moth outside. We began work on our outdoor classroom in the fall of 2015 securing funding and planning out what we wanted accomplish. By the fall of 2016 we completed our initial phase of the project. We wanted to turn an underused portion of our school field that held a small grove of trees into an outdoor classroom that our students could learn in. Members of the O'Leary community noticed that the schoolyard needed to be cleaned up after the melt of winter's snow. In response to this, students went outdoors to pick up trash on the school grounds in order to give it the cleaning it needed. Archbishop O'Leary High School - Edmonton
