Reuse

celebrating spring

Mme Nathalie's students made frog maracas in order to celebrate spring. They reuse old paint container, which were made from applesauce container, and turned them into musical frogs. A fun way for k-2 students to make music and to recycle at the same time !

Don't despair, REPAIR!

We were sad to discover that many of our badminton racquets are aging. Many of them are losing their grip! Grip tape, that is. They have become hard wooden handles bristling with splinters. Did we throw them out and order new ones?No way!

Loonie Auction

For this fundraiser, community members bring donations of gently used and re-gifted items to be auctioned off in lots. This is a great way of recirculating unwanted items that might have been thrown out otherwise.

BYO plates

For a spaghetti dinner fundraiser, we requested all diners to bring their own plates and cutlery. This kept 60 paper plates and forks out of the landfill!

Recycled Flower Pot project

We recycled old Scholastic book order forms and we made them into little plant pots. We used a wooden pot maker. You have a 9cm wide strip of newsprint. You cut it down lengthwise then you roll it around the potmaker, and squish in the bottom of the paper.
