Be Free from Lights Fridays! Fridays are a shorter day at our school and the Nature Kids Club encourage classes to try to turn off their lights and Be Free From Lights on Fridays!
The Nature Kids Club have written Letters to the Mayor of Calgary giving him some of our suggestions and asking him what can be done to help our environment.
The Nature Kids Club encourages the staff at our school that if your phones on low battery put it on the charger because it saves batteries and it takes more energy to get it back fully charged.
Nature Kids Club sorted through the garbage and reported back to the staff what kind of garbage there was collected. As a school community, each class discussed how we could make better choices for a healthier Earth.
The grade 4/5/6 class has created a turtle habitat in our classroom. We researched about our turtle and found it is a Map Turtle from North America. We then named it A'nowara, which means "turtle" in the Mohawk Indians language.
