Each year the children from The Chartwell House create art works to sell in the town square. We ask for families involvement to bring in recycled items to help us create what we sell. For example the toddler classrooms create fabric bowls from recycled fabric, and make wind chimes from recycled tin cans. The preschool classrooms collect glass jars with lids and decorate them. And the kindergarten classroom creates letter magnets from recycled magnets and cardboard and decorate them. The money we have raised by selling the art work is donated to a charity that supports earth preservation, for example the World Wild Life Fund. During our selling of the art work we have WHIMZ animals come and showcase the animals they have saved, face painting for the children and a puppet show to keep our participates entertained and to interest people who are just walking the street.
