The students are so excited to start their gardening! They brought in large water/ juice bottles, yogurt plastic jars, and plastic coffee cups to pot their soil. We learned about the different soil types needed for our gardening needs and began mixing nutrients, fertilizers, and soils for their distinct plants. They secretly loved getting messy on this project!

We're getting into that green spirit in our classroom! After discussing plant life cycles and the learning about the benefits of having plants all around us we've decided to start a classroom garden! We were sad to discover that many of our badminton racquets are aging. Many of them are losing their grip! Grip tape, that is. They have become hard wooden handles bristling with splinters. Did we throw them out and order new ones?No way! We simply bought some new grip tape and will wrap the handles. Good as new, and a lot cheaper, too. SMCS - Shalalth

We recycled old Scholastic book order forms and we made them into little plant pots. We used a wooden pot maker. You have a 9cm wide strip of newsprint. You cut it down lengthwise then you roll it around the potmaker, and squish in the bottom of the paper. Then use the bottom of the potmaker to squish it down hard enough for it to keep its shape. Use dirt to fill the pots and now you are ready... SMCS - Shalalth
