Over the spring and summer, the school constructued a school raised bed garden.
At 7:30 in the morning, Mr. Iwaszko, Head Custodian at Archbishop O’Leary High School, had everything ready for a group of Grade 11 and Grade 12 students willing to help him to water the plants in the schoolyard and taking care of its green spaces.
Earth Day Activities---Shoreline Clean up, Yellow/Green Fish Drain painting, Litter pickup around town, school yard clean up.
Avocado are a rare thing here in Korea, so when I brought in what appeared to be a massive seed the students were super excited! We researched avocados and avocado seed germinating, and decided we were up to the task to try our own in our classroom garden.
The students are so excited to start their gardening! They brought in large water/ juice bottles, yogurt plastic jars, and plastic coffee cups to pot their soil.
