Archbishop O´Leary High School is determined to create a world-class recycling system. But that is an objective that needs to be done step by step and with all the O´Leary Community involvement. In order to contribute to that, Ms. Alamo Santos and her Grade 11 students decided to help out with the recycling system in each classroom. The old garbage and paper bins can be transformed into new recycling bins without having to get rid of them. The idea is to get new lids that make easier for students, teachers, and custodians to figure out what goes in each bin. With that intention, two groups of students, coordinated by Ms. Alamo Santos, created a datebase with pictures of all the different types of bins that there are in the school, how many, their measurements, and where they are located. In this way, when the new lids come, organising recycling spaces in each classroom will be much faster and easier!
