Outdoor Learning

The grade 4/5/6 class is learning about Habitats and Diversity of Life in Science. To learn about the amazing habitats around Sokcho, we went on three field trips to learn outside of the classroom. We explored a botanical garden and a forest, a bird sanctuary around a lake, and a river estuary leading to the beach. At all locations we identified the animal and plant's that live in that area, how humans have changed the area, and what humans can do to help the animals and plants in the habitat. We have also taken samples of water and soil from each location to explore the microscopic particles of each habitat with microscopes back at school.
