National Sweater Day

The Kindergarten students planned and executed a school-wide campaign to raise awareness for energy conservation. They prepared posters and announcements, then visited each class to take pictures of everyone. Each class had almost 100% participation.

Everyday Conservation Activities

Regular activities that support the environment and occur daily or weekly include: turning off the lights when all the students leave the classroom; each classroom has a juice box collection basket; waste free lunches are encouraged (avoid use of plastic wrap or any disposable items ) and parents are regularly asked to donate items which are no longer useful in the home - items such as fabric, yarn, stickers and buttons for art projects.

Sweater Day

All students and staff were encouraged to participate in National Sweater Day. This is a day where we turn down the thermostat and put on a sweater instead to show how easy it is to conserve energy.
