The CONNECTIONS Program content is based on experiential activities that have been developed and tested over the 30+ years the program has been in existence.
Facilitators at the on-site days at Kamp Kiwanis use a variety of learning strategies that connect issues of culture, diversity, leadership and the environment. Included are simulations, cooperative learning activities, and various problem-solving strategies, family group discussions, journaling, consensus building, dialogue and discussion. Students have opportunities to participate, learn, reflect, question, play, discuss, debate, connect with others; and, build their own and others' leadership capacities. along with a host of other activities!
Indoor sessions are interspersed with outdoor sessions, as well as evening campfires and recreational activities.
