Be the Change Project: A Blackfoot Story

Bassano participants explored with younger students how important family and cooperation are. CONNECTIONS students wrote a 12-page book, ‘A Blackfoot Story’, describing how a young boy initially refuses help as he tries to build his own tipi. Later he learns the value of asking for help and working with his family.  Presently, to support the text, there is one hand-drawn picture and many photos from the internet, but the intent is to involve more students through art classes to have more drawings. The book has been read to the school’s grades 1 and 2 classes. The plan is that the book will continue to develop with questions and background material prepared by teachers for use with other students.

Be the Change Project: We Are One

We painted a mural on a large canvas and hope to place it on a wall at our school.
