Sir Winston Churchill High School created a week long"Be the Change" focused on the issue of fair trade. This series of PowerPoint presentations takes you through their plans, processes and reflections on the project.

Be the Change Project: Fair Trade Week

Sir Winston Churchill High participants had a focus on cultural awareness, Fair Trade, equality and social justice and did this by educating their peers about origins of a cup of coffee and cocoa. CONNECTIONS students had a week of activities: Kick-off Event, Friday afterschool- Fair trade café (with speaker from Ten Thousand Villages); Monday lunch- The selling of fair trade chocolate and coffee, as well as handing out brochures/pamphlets; Tuesday lunch- Mock stimulation of the process of making coffee; Wednesday lunch- Find the facts scavenger hunt; Thursday lunch- An obstacle course depicting the process of moving coffee beans to and from locations.
