Be the Change Project: 'Insecurities at School' 

The student organizers at Olds based their project about insecurities and misconceptions surrounding the school. They prepared students by putting on presentations explaining how CONNECTIONS changes their opinions and worldview. This preceded a presentation from Alison Springer. The project delivered a message that forgetting about insecurities will improve your mental health and help you succeed in the future.

Be the Change Project:

The student organizers worked on accepting diversity specifically bringing awareness of disabilities through a presentation by Cory Johnson followed by a speech by a student at the school who also has cerebral palsy

Be the Change Project: 'Care Project'

Olds participants did a number of projects:

A week of activities focusing on community building for “Get Real day” what we need to do to make our school better “(included anti-bullying and derogatory words activities) ;
Language shock - understanding how ESL and new immigrants may feel coming into the school;
CARE day- with  speakers who could describe actual experiences of refugees;
team building games day with grade 9’s;
Stand up for a Cause day  (organized by leadership but assisted  by the Be the Change students):
