Contest Rules
- There is no limit to the number of photos you may upload per month. For good quality and fast uploads, image files should be sized no smaller than 1280 px on the shortest edge (approximately 3MB in size). Winners may be contacted for for a higher resolution file than originally submitted. For technical assistance, please submit a contact form.
- All photos must be original, and unaltered (photoshop, filters, blurring NOT permitted). Acceptable alterations include cropping, or light/color-correction.
- Photos must evidently represent planned, annual public events from anywhere in Alberta (from any year) that celebrate and showcase diversity in the community. All photographs must be focused on the event and event performers/activity with members of the general public being incidental to the photo. Photos containing and focused on identifiable general public individuals will not be considered, unless the photographer has secured the proper release.
- Submissions must be made using the online contest form. Submissions sent over email or using dropbox will be disqualified. Previously published photos on your website will also be considered with your permission.
- Winning submissions will be used by SEEDS Connections in the 2016 Alberta Diversity Events Calendar and other promotional materials. Photos will also be published on the SEEDS Connections website. Monthly winners will be notified by email, however, winning photos will not be announced until the Calendar is launched in November 2015.
- Photos may only be submitted once. Any photo submitted multiple times will be disqualified from the contest.
- Winning entries will be selected by a student-led committee of unbiased judges and may qualify for a gift card valued at $25.00.
- Photo submissions will be accepted from any month until October 2, 2015.
- Up to three winning photos representing different types of diversity may be selected to be published each month. Individuals can only win once per month, though there are no limits on submissions.
- The 2016 Diversity Calendar Photo Contest closes October 2, 2015 (to accept September events) and a Grand Prize will be awarded to the winner of a draw of all the winning submissions from the entire year in November 2015. This photo will appear as the Cover Photo of the 2016 Diversity Calendar.
Submission of photos to this competition implies acceptance of all the rules here stated.
