The Celebrating Alberta's Diversity Charity Calendar aims to encourage all Albertans to plan their visits to surrounding communities to coincide with events taking place throughout 2016. In addition to capturing the beauty of our communities, nearly 100 public events are featured, as are religious holidays and United Nations observances to celebrate our cultural & ethnic diversity, ability diversity, gender & sexual orientation diversity & religious diversity. Each page highlights a CONNECTIONS™ student participant testimonial that speaks to the impact of the program. We are grateful to our partners whose ongoing support made this project possible:

Background
The CONNECTIONS Program is a five credit, high school course that brings together high school students from across the province. Through a variety of CONNECTIONS Program activities, students engage with concepts such as environmental stewardship, empathy for diverse perspectives, multiculturalism, anti-racism and anti-bullying, and collaboratively develop strategies and action plans to take on roles of leadership in schools and communities in which they live.
The Alumni leading the Celebrating Alberta's Diversity Charity Calendar are grade 11 and 12 students, spearheaded by Chestermere High School, seeking to expand on the diversity and leadership skills gained during their experiences in the CONNECTIONS Program.
