Be the Change Project: 'Modified Slang Revolution'
Students did a modified Slang Revolution where they spoke to Grade 8 students at a local middle school to discuss their word choices. There was an initial group discussion before breaking into smaller separate groups to make a list of words the group found harmful. The group mostly discussed harmful words dealing with physical descriptions of people. The students responded very positively, and believed they would be more conscious of hteir word choices the experience.
