Be the Change Project
Ashmont participants designed a two and a half day mini CONNECTIONs camp for the other students at the school to better understand the causes of racism and bullying.
The first day the students participated in team building games, skits, and Elder presentations from two local reserves to speak about their experiences. The consisted of a feast and traditional offerings, they had drumming and Walter WhiteBear come in to speak to the students.
The target audience for the first day was particularly the seventh grade students, and the second day was targeted to the school in its entirety.
